Our History
Established in early 1999 in a 15,000 sq ft industrial
unit in South Leeds.
Initial investment in one Bobst SP102E11, one MBO B30 folder
and one Perfecta guillotine 115TVC in spring 1999.
Further investment during spring/summer 1999 in a
second Bobst, three further MBO B30 folders, a second Perfecta
guillotine, a Heidelberg Cylinder and two Muller Bravo Saddlestitchers
(one 6 station + cover and one 4 station + cover).
March 2000 acquired E Fish & Co. Ltd a long established
and well respected Leeds based competitor based in 15,000
sq ft in Kirkstall in Leeds.
Further investment during spring/summer 2000 in a Moll gluing
line, two Kirk Rudy pick and place systems and another 4 station
Muller Bravo stitching line.
Winter 2000 - replaced two old Muller 335 lines from
E Fish with two new 2 station Muller Bravo S lines, purchased
first 2 Palamides automatic banding machines and two new MBO
T700 folders.
November 2000 - purchased, subject to planning consent,
a 5.5-acre site on the Leeds Outer Ring Road and went out
to tender for the construction of a purpose built 80,000 sq
ft factory.
January 2001 - Planning consent granted.
February 2001 - Construction work commenced and orders placed
for 4 additional Muller Bravo stitching lines (1x8st + 1x4st
+ 2x2st), an Onyx in line inserter for the 8 station Bravo,
a Muller Corona CC12 - 18 station Perfect Binder complete
with automatic palletisation, in line strapping and shrinkwrapping,
12 Muller streamfeeders, three further Palamides banding machines
and a Schneider Senator Guillotine system.
July 2001 - Moved into new factory and ceased production
at old units.
August 2001 - took delivery of second Muller Corona
CC12 Perfect Binder complete with automatic Palletisation,
in line strapping and shrinkwrapping.
September 2001 - Installed Onyx in line inserter on
18 station Corona Binder.
October 2001 - Awarded Printweek Print Finisher of
the Year award for 2001.
November 2001 - further investment in two new MBO
T700 folders and four more Palamides banding machines.
January 2002 - two 2 station Muller Bravos increased
to 4 and 6 stations.
April 2002 - further investment in a 6 station Muller
Bravo and cover feeder.
June 2002 - further investment in an MBO T700 folder
and order placed for 2 Buhrs Zandaam 4000 polywrapping lines
together with a Domino Editor GT Controller, Jet Array printer
and 3 A series printers.
July 2002 - further investment in our first Herzog
& Heymann one piece mailing line.
September 2003 - Management Buy Out occurs. This strengthens
our position and leaves the Company poised for further growth.
October 2003 - investment made in an AutoBond Laminator.
This leaves no doubt that we are the "one stop shop"
for all print finishing requirements.
January 2004 - Orders placed for the purchase of a
new Management Information and Shopfloor Data Capture System,
due to go live in May 2004.
November 2004 - Acquisition announced of Senator Print
Finishers, based in Leicester.
January 2005 - Established Scorpio Direct Mailing
Solutions, an additional arm to our core business, providing
extra products and services to meet our customer's needs.
